Are your property taxes too high?

- Do I believe that my house would never sell for the price at which it is assessed?
- Has my county's appraisal district been increasing the assessed value of my property at a rate which is unrealistic for my neighborhood?

Example of property tax savings

A person purchased new home for $265,000 in 2005. Values dropped and the home was assessed at $255,000 in the beginning of 2009; however it only appraised for $227,000. At a millage rate of 21 mills, that homeowner is being taxed $588 dollars too high! It is not uncommon for the county to be off this much.

If your house is assessed just $14,300 off in an area that the millage rate is 21 mills, the amount you would save by having it corrected would pay for the appraisal in the first year and you would continue to save each year due to the assessment correction.

When you order an appraisal from us, we will provide you a professional appraisal stating our unbiased opinion of what we believe the true market value of your home to be.  Your appraisal will include data on comparable homes that have sold in your neighborhood (including the actual sales prices of those homes), interior and exterior pictures of your home, exterior pictures of comparable homes, a detailed floorplan sketch showing the exact size of your home, and many other exhibits and maps.  We do not guarantee that our appraised value will be less than your assessed value, but if it is lower, you will be able to take our appraisal to your appraisal district as evidence that your taxes should be lowered.
